Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG)

Families within the Emerson Public Schools have a shared interest in the educational programs, especially those who have a child with an identified learning disability or a unique learning style. The Emerson SEPAG consists of parent leaders who facilitate parent involvement through meetings and events during the school year and work collaboratively with all stakeholders on parent input regarding special education.

A Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) is established to:

  • Collaborate with district administration to positively affect policies, practices, and programs for students with IEPs

  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of students with special needs and learning challenges in school as well as extracurricular activities

  • Serve as a resource to parents through meetings and workshops
